Fans of HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms are still buzzing after the season 1 finale, and one of the biggest lingering questions is: Will Tanselle “Too Tall” return in Season 2? The Dornish puppeteer, played by Tanzyn Crawford, stole hearts with her quiet confidence, artistic talent, and the sweet, awkward spark she shared with Ser Duncan the Tall.

But after the chaos at the Ashford tourney, she vanished and even the books don’t bring her back. This made the fans wonder why she was introduced in the first place. Hence, in a recent interview, the actress herself commented upon her potential return in the show’s season 2.

Tanzyn Crawford’s playful tease about season 2

In a fresh interview with TV Insider, published on February 22, 2026, Tanzyn Crawford was asked directly if the fans will see Tanselle again in season 2. Her answer to this was:

“I would definitely love to continue her story and continue the Dunk and Tanselle connection, so I’m excited for the future of Tanselle. That’s all I can say.”

This answer delighted the fans as they counted it as a hint that she might indeed return in the second season. But they are aware that she cannot disclose information explicitly. According to the article, she said it with a smile and followed up with even more intriguing comments when asked how Tanselle might feel about everything that happened because of her:

“I wondered that, too. There’s so many possible options. Did she leave and dismiss it and not think about it and self-preserve, or is this playing on her mind? I think that’s a question that’s up in the air… I’m sure it weighs on her somewhat, but she doesn’t really know this guy, so saving her own life and her family’s life is a priority.”

Tanselle’s impact in season 1

In the first season, Tanselle “Too Tall” wasn’t just a background character. She was indirectly the catalyst for the entire Trial of Seven. Her puppet show mocking the Targaryens was the very thing that enraged Prince Aerion. Aerion broke her finger in retaliation. Dunk stepped in to defend her, sparking the historic trial that ended with Prince Baelor’s tragic death.

By the finale, Egg is already inexplicitly suggesting Dunk that they track down Tanselle and her troupe of puppeteers by going to Dorne. In the books however, Dunk and Egg never find her again. However, since creators of the show have decided to expand beyond the books, the possibility of Dunk and Tanselle crossing paths again remains intact.
