  1. Miyazaki is a master of his craft. His movies move hearts. When I call Shinkai "The next Miyazaki" I'm not saying he does things like Miyazaki. I'm not saying I want him to be like Miyazaki. I'm saying that he is the next master of his craft, able to move hearts.

  2. I heard the hype for this film and so when I finally watched it I wasn't sure what to expect. But maaan, this movie's hype was totallyyyyy legit. This is going on my favorite movie list.

  3. The movie said in 2013 the comet came on the 4 th of October on that day I was scared because a roomer of the end of the world comet was going round I find that werid and I know it was a Friday I remember and I checked my calendar just then and the 4 th that year was a Friday

  4. I just watched this movie but where I was watching if I done something else it will not let me replay to that bit so I was at the end 9 minutes left so I just tryed to find the ending tho

  5. It's definitely one of my favorite Makoto Shingkai movies. The first time I saw it, I was always at the edge of my seat waiting for what would happened next. No matter how many times I've watched it, it still tugs at my heartstrings. I still find myself saying, "Oh my gawd! Oh my gawd!" hihihihi… I just hope that the viewers will appreciate the director as he is, and leave out the comparisons. <3

  6. The only real inconsistent thing was how they didn't notice they were in different years, they must have passed by some calendars or smth like that. Apart from that, the movie is simply fantastic.

  7. I thought it was obvious that they became a couple in the end because despite Taki and Mitsuha forgetting their time together, they both kept saying how no matter how quick time passed for them, they always had this feeling that something was missing from their memory. A promise. A feeling. A someone who was close to them. This itself should of implied that despite Taki and Mitsuha severing the tie so they could no longer be connected, there was already a long lasting connection that intertwined with their fate. Especially when at the end, both Taki and Mitsuha were crying as they passed each other, implying that their memory knew each other at one point, and was trying to make them understand that in the end, their search to find that someone, that feeling, that promise they made, they finally reunited.

  8. I may be an American, but I don’t like every U.S. Animation Studio.
For instance Sony shouldn’t even have an “animation studio”I have only seen one film they have done and that is all of theirs I will watch Surf’s Up.
Illumination is also ruining animation I saw the first Despicable Me film and didn’t think it was that great just okay.
The only PIXAR films I don’t like are Monsters University and Cars 2. The first Cars film was just okay as well.
Studio Ghibli is one of the best studios to ever exist!

  9. The ending is so good, i normally hate movie endings like this, leaving me hanging after im intrigued and have characters cross paths and that be it like “Ha you get it cuz they cross path hahaha” BUT THEY NEVER INTERACT, but in this movie they actually fucking acknowledge the fact that “hey I actually fucking know you”

  10. You told me to let you know so I will let you KNOW!

I have watched this movie twice and loved it… with that said you did an amazing job explaining it. I loved the comparisons…. great job really!
