Is it too much of a stretch to have Angel be black? Obviously there are many black latinos/latinas out there, but…I dunno, it might be odd to see Angel and Collins both be black…OR it could be groundbreaking and important to see two black men in a loving relationship together. I WISH we could have Jessie J or Demi Lovato as Maureen. I love Vanessa Hudgens for Mimi, but Selena DOES NOT have the vocal strength for Mim, or any Broadway role really.

I highly agree with you for Ben Platt playing Mark and Chris Jackson to play Tom Collins. They’d be perfect!!!! And Leslie Odom Jr is the person I see to play Benny

I desperately want Aaron Tveit for Roger, his type would be perfect, but he is no where near as vocally gifted for THIS role.

3. i literally cant remember the roger guy's name, because he is that utterly abysmal to see, but ive heard him sing and he doesnt have a rock voice. he has a musical theatre voice. roger is literally written to be a rock singer. its not my fault youre a straight girl who exclusively has crushes on gay men. also – how does he look angsty in any way, shape, or form? thats like the richest fucking man ive ever seen

4. casting mimi was difficult because you couldnt think of any latina women, wasnt it

5. they tried bringing a ~*mainstream*~ actress in on mimi with vanessa hudgens for the hollywood bowl, which, as we all remember, was awful. so you want to uh.. do.. that.. again? selena gomez cant actually sing live honey (also, her hair's been too fucked to look like mimi's hair since disney straightened it permanently)

10. chris jackson is a good actor (that's a first for this list) but there's no way he could tackle collins' voice without sounding like he was faking it. he also just… isnt the type. hes too old for collins – who is supposed to be in his late twenties at the oldest – and hes also best known for authoritative roles, which means theatregoers wouldnt want to see him as a goofier character. itd be weird. like seeing your dad drunk

Rodger- even though it be a little weird with ben as mark, i think mike faist would KILL it as rodger. he has the washed up rockstar look.even though i haven’t heard much of his voice, i think he has the talent.

Mimi-i hear a lot of people pushing for renee elise goldsberry but she’s a little too old for the role as i’ve seen her performance before and it didn’t blow me away. i would rather have someone younger. the only exception i have is to karen olivo because a) she’s played mimi before and knows the character and b) haVE YOU SEEN THIS WOMAN SHE DOES NOT AG

Aaron Tveit should be Roger. Since he'll surely be too busy doing Moulin Rouge (yes. yep. RECKLESSLY OPTIMISTIC), it should go to Jake Boyd. This is the only role I'm passionate about.

100% think Todrick Hall should be Angel, Thought that from the start!! He can sing, dance, act, and has drag experience. There is no one that could do it better than him, he IS angel!! (also I think Zendaya would be an amazing mimi)

– I would be so beyond thrilled to see Ben Platt as Mark, and I think that it will probably happen, but if it doesn't, I think Darren Criss would also be really well suited for the role.
– I agree with Jeremy as Roger, but if you're thinking more mainstream, Brendon Urie would be another really great choice. And if not as Roger, I think he could pull off Angel really well.
– Another (much less likely) choice for Roger would be Ryan McCartan. I just love him, and I think he's a brilliant actor.
– I think Leslie would be great Benny, but I feel like that role isn't enough to showcase what he could do. I'd be really interested in seeing his take of Collins.
– I never thought of Selena Gomez, but she's everything I didn't know I needed from a Mimi!
