I don't want to see the gay agenda pushed on us in the Starwars movies. Let's just have a movie that entertains us without political correctness.
I really don’t care one way or another if Poe is gay, straight, or whatever else. Just don’t make the sexualities a huge point of the story so we can have the movie focus on being good.

Sexuality is barely a thing in Star Wars. As far as we know Luke never got any
Anyone asking for representation, and the first thing you point to is sexuality and skin colour. Well done, YOU'RE the sexist racists -_-
You're basically admitting that everyone of a single skin colour or sexuality are ALL the same. How can a single person who shares one common feature with you represent you?
What if the black character is a self hating 'racist' who has only white friends? Does that represent all black people? No.
What if the gay woman has been forced out of her community because she disagrees with something her other gay friends say? Does that represent all gay people? No.
What should be represented is our morals, values and strength of character. That's what's important, no matter what you look like or who you are attracted to. It's something that can bind us all past all the superficial stuff.
As long as it serves a narrative purpose, sure, have gay characters. But it HAS to be important, that goes for romance full stop, whether it's straight OR gay.
Does seeing two people kiss on screen add anything to the story? No. Could it potentially add growth to the characters going forward, yes, capitalise on that point, not the kiss itself.

I'm not against a gay character being in star wars. The big thing that I'm against is them trying to hammer in some sort of political message when given a controversial topic which is what most shows do (looking at you Mr. Robot). This past year, I have heard so much forced political messages in movies, TV shows, books, etc, and I'm sick of it. I have liberal and Conservative friends that love Star Wars, and I don't want another pointless flame war between them. Let Star Wars continue to be a place where both sides can enjoy awesome stories.
