  1. Leia should have been holding Han's dice as she sent the ship into light speed through the First Order. John Williams would have killed it and it would have been an emotional sacrifice for the General. They missed a perfect scene in which Leia would have died with dignity. If they mention in Episode 9 during the opening scrawl that, "General Leia has died at the hands of the first order." and they show her funeral, that is a disgrace.

  2. carrie fisher was awesome , a good send off for her would of been that she and luke connected to the force together when luke faced kylo ren and when luke became one with the force she would have aswell , that would of tied it up beautifully

  3. I could see two possible endings for Leia – 1. she sacrifices herself for the rebellion or other new, major character or, 2. due to her injuries, she gives herself over and merges with the Force, leaving the realm of living to become like Yoda. Both would inspire 'hope' in other characters which was a major theme of Leia's in VIII. Then, with family permission, she could be CGI'd as a Force Ghost. Either way, the era ends and the only principal character left is the beloved Chewie. This seems to be the direction of Lucas Film and Disney since the last two movies were more about the new characters (or introducing new characters) and less concern about the original folks whose life spans were not explored beyond cursory nods. Some of us have waited 30 years to see their stories.

  4. I was so sad when she died…with most people. She was so badass as both Carrie Fisher and Princess Leia. I love General Leia. She is so cool…that I got her exclusive Funko Pop!!! Carrie is so funny, too. Carrie Fisher, may she rest in peace. ❤️❤️❤️

  5. carrie did such an amazing job playing leia (like she always does) and for leia's arc in the last jedi i though it was amazing because first of all, we got to see her use her other force abilities already, and second, she finally got her chance to reunite with his brother luke.

  6. 3:53 assassinated by the First Order? that is the worst ending you could give to Leia. if i write the script, i would probably said that …sometimes after the event of The Last Jedi, Leia is too heartbroken after losing all her family and then left the resistance for the younger generation to Rey, Finn, Poe, others. i mean she lost Han, now Luke, and Ben is currently lost to the dark side. its quiet simple and understanable if Leia cant bear this anymore and choose to seclude herself like Luke.

  7. I thought it was very touching to see her in the movie and have such a strong roll. So sad to see her go though. Not sure how they will go about her in the next movie. The last Sean with her and Luke made me cry like a baby. It was so sad because you know she is gone forever.

  8. I really liked Leias role in the last Jedi but I was a little confused with how she will be in the next film but I think that The Last Jedi was really amazing and I am still processing the whole movie 😁

  9. I cried. A lot. Mainly during Leia scenes. I think that they should use maybe a scene or two cut from TLJ and some other audio. But I like your idea of referencing her in the opening crawl and showing a funeral in the early scenes of the movie. I know they will handle it well.

  10. They have in their arsenal possibly the finest voice actor in the business. A stand-in seen from the rear with Mark Hamill doing a spot-on voice impression could be used to position Leia for a from-behind kill shot from a first-order sniper.

  11. Understandable that Leia could not be a central character for next installment without Ms. Fisher. Would fans allow another actress? I do not like the idea of excluding Leia altogether, though. The director and producers could make something work.

  12. I like the idea of having her retire and go somewhere in the opening crawl. And then maybe you can have the First Order find out where she is and blow up the planet using a new Star Killer Base. But in TLJ, I loved her so much. Glad to finally see her (mild spoiler) use the force.

  13. So difficult to imagine what creative solution the studio will provide. CGI not my personal choice of course, flashbacks and unused material for part of the movie seems more plausible and it will definitely cover up the plot. A beloved character that lost its real actor is always a difficult choice to think about casting another one. Whatever the studio does, I just hope they do not disappoint.

  14. I cried in her scene with Luke (no one's ever truly gone) because it rung so true in real life. I think that it would be best to have her in Episode 9 with a brief cameo using a mix of unused footage from Episode 8 and sound editing.

  15. I really liked her scenes in The Last Jedi! I would have loved to see her sort of reunite with her son and I'm sad we won't get to see any scenes between her and Kylo/Ben in Episode 9. As for her general role in the next movie… I'm not sure. I'd love to see the scenes they have but I don't know if I want them to include them in the film. I think it's very realistic, though, that she dies and we get to see her funeral. And I definitely expect all of the characters to talk about her all the time. I want the audience to get the feeling that Episode 9 is still her movie!

  16. My best guesses would be that they either kill her in the opening crawl or “gladiator” her (kill off a stand-in). But both of these also feel kind of cheap unless there’s a big funeral after … which feels like it would be a big target for the bad guys, given current circumstances in the film universe. Maybe the movie would start with a funeral that gets attacked by the First Order? Infiltrated by spies? I wouldn’t be against re-casting her and moving on, but I also know that would piss off a lot of people.
