Hafthor Julius Bjornsson has set a new world record after successfully deadlifting 1,041 pounds at the Arnold Strongman Classic.

The 29-year-old strongman and actor, who plays Ser Gregor ‘The Mountain’ Clegane in Game Of Thrones, shared his epic feat of strength on Instagram which saw him break the world record set last year by ten pounds.

It wasn’t the only record he scored either, having also established a world record for throwing a 56 pound weight over a 20 foot bar which the actor also shared on his social feeds.

Celebrating his achievements afterwards in another post, Hafthor wrote: ‘What an amazing weekend! I want to say thank you to all my friends and family who were able to be there and support me through the Arnold’s, as well as all my friends, family, coaches, and fans whom were unable to make it.

‘I set myself some high goals this year. 1 out of 3 achieved. Next up Europe’s Strongest Man!’

What about maybe fulfilling Cleganebowl in Game Of Thrones season 8 too? Just a thought.
