When you play the Game of Thrones, you win or you die – and it’s only a matter of time before season eight’s body count claims its first victim.
But who could, quite literally, be in the firing line? Well, according to bookmakers Paddy Power and Betway, it appears that Euron Greyjoy’s days are numbered.
Euron, who has been working alongside the Lannisters for his time on the screen, has betrayed his family by killing off his brother to claim the Salt Throne.
He is now the fleet commander for Cersei, he was last seen secretly heading off to Essos to bring back an army to fight for the Queen.
But will his trip be a fateful one?
With odds ranging from evens to 6/1, he is the most prominent name topping the bookies list, with Melisandre also up there with a 4/1 odd.
Meanwhile, according to Paddy Power, Euron’s niece and nephew Theon and Yara Greyjoy could also be in trouble, both with an 8/1 chance of falling first.
A spokesperson for the company said they had also ‘seen a huge gamble on the Greyjoys’ in recent weeks, causing their initial odds to be slashed in half.
While Cersei has seems almost a sure thing with 2/1 odds on going out first by Betway, Paddy Power gives her a more fighting chance with 10/1.
Both seem in agreement that the chances of Jon Snow and Arya Stark biting the dust soon are slim, with 100/1 being the current betting odds.

With the final season of the show looming, it seems almost a dead cert that the unpredictable show could kill off any or all of their key players by the show’s end.
While some may appear safe, nothing is guaranteed thanks to George RR Martin.
However, a recent reveal from a letter to a publisher, dated 1993 when he first started writing the novel collection of the fantasy epic, hinted that he had five major survivors in mind.
In the letter, Martin wrote: ‘Five central characters will make it through all three volumes, however, growing from children to adults and changing the world and themselves in the process.
‘In a sense, my trilogy is almost a generational saga, telling the life stories of these five characters, three men and two women.’
He then revealed: ‘The five key players are Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, and three of the children of Winterfell, Arya, Bran, and the bastard Jon Snow.’
While quite a lot of his plan has changed in the 25 years that have passed, could this remain?
Game of Thrones returns April on HBO and Sky Atlantic.
