Is Cersei Lannister pregnant? Fans have been dissecting a new picture of the character ahead of the final season of Game of Thrones (Picture: HBO)

She seemed to suggest she has a baby on the way in the Game of Thrones series seven finale, so all eyes were on Cersei Lannister’s ‘bump’ in new pictures released by HBO.

Ahead of the final season of Game of Thrones, fans have been given a first look at the show’s characters, with Cersei’s pictures sparking a huge debate.

After she appeared to reveal her pregnancy to Tyrion with a telling hand on her stomach, it’s no surprise everyone was straight to inspecting the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms for a baby bump.

Is that a baby bump we spy? Cersei’s dress seemed to be giving nothing away (Picture: HBO)

Do we spy a hint of bump? It’s hard to tell, and it seems the jury’s out among Game of Thrones fans too.

Reacting to the new stills of season eight on Twitter, fans wrote: ‘Is Cersei pregnant? Can’t tell.

‘Is it me or does Cersei look pregnant? Hmmmm.

‘Though I’d still bet on Cersei being pregnant, I’m not getting it from this picture, unless she is carrying the baby very low.

‘Cersei ol fraud ass ain’t pregnant.’

Some fans seem completely convinced that Cersei is lying about being pregnant, despite her hints last season, but would she really stoop to that?

Finale director Jeremy Podeswa has thrown his two cents in during an interview with Mashable and he says he doesn’t believe she would pretend to be expecting.

Podeswa reasoned: ‘I think she’s capable of any kind of treachery, but I feel that the fact that she has a new life within her does give her a different kind of core strength now.

‘Even the strength to let Jaime go, for example, because she’s not truly alone anymore.’

Fans, meanwhile, have been left raging as there still hasn’t been a trailer for the final season.

Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss admitted that they reluctantly agreed to release a trailer, but wished they didn’t have to.

‘[David Lynch] was saying he wished there were no trailers,’ Benioff told Entertainment Weekly. ‘And it’s true, you could just go into a movie and see something completely fresh.’

‘I wish there were no trailers,’ Weiss added. ‘I just want somebody to say, “Trust me, go see this.”’
