Game of Thrones actress Maisie hinted that she would not be taking on any future roles on long-running TV shows.
The 21-year-old revealed it was “not something that interests” the HBO star.
The actress spoke about life after the Game of Thrones at a careers event St Andrews University.
Maisie revealed: “I’ll probably be bawling my eyes out. It feels like the right time.
“Now that I’m 21, people have been saying to me when this show finishes, you’re going to have your whole life and lots of opportunity.”
She went on to discuss the television industry and whether she would continue after Game of Thrones finishes.
The actress revealed she was no longer interested in chasing long term contracts.
Maisie has played Arya Stark for eight years and all eight series.
She revealed she is disappointed by the lack of funding in certain areas on the entertainment industry.
Maisie explained: “Most of the films that I see in the cinema right now don’t really interest me, and unfortunately the movies that I read, that I really love, they just don’t get funded right now.
“I don’t know why that is. People aren’t funding British movies anymore, or just indie movies in general.”
Maisie went on to gush about developing characters over long periods of time, but also noted how contracts and shows can be “milked to death”.
The Arya Stark star said: “We really have come into television and I think it’s nice to be able to create characters over a long period of time.
“I think there are really wonderful things to television but at the end of the day, people are in it to make money and to sign long contracts and to milk things to death.”
She concluded: “And it’s just not something that interests me right now.”
Game of Thrones sent fans wild online this evening after releasing fifteen brand new spoiler photographs from the upcoming season.
Many of the photos were simply captioned “The Final Season”, teasing fans just months away from the new episodes.
Other snaps included “Arya Stark of Winterfell and “The Mother of Dragons”.
Fans were not expecting the influx of photos, with more captioned “Hand of the Queen,” “Kingslayer” and “The Three-Eyed Raven”.
“Queen Cersei” and “Lady of Winterfell” made up the last of the photos – but could the snaps tease deeper meanings? Only time will tell.
Game of Thrones season 8 will return to HBO and Sky Atlantic in April 2019. Seasons 1-7 are currently streaming on NOW TV.
