Lena Headey, the actress behind the character of Cersei Lannister, had tweeted in the fall of October 2017 along with a lot of other women urged by the #MeToo movement to share their stories of sexual harassment. The common element in all of these stories was one man named Hervey Weinstein who later faced allegations of Sexual Harassment and Assault by the Game of Thrones actress. According to those tweets, she was apparently manhandled by Weinstein after she said no and felt violated.

“I got in my car and I cried.”

Headey went ahead to be interviewed by The Sunday Times and there she disclosed that she feels like she has hurt her career by saying no the advances of Harvey Weinstein. She felt like because she hadn’t accorded to the demands of the man, she has lost quite a lot of opportunities in her life, and in doing so, has brought a shorter end to her career than it would otherwise have been.

“After he was discovered to be a slimeball, on a grander scale than me just knowing it, I did start thinking, ‘Fuck, maybe because I didn’t shag him, that’s impacted a decade of my working life,’” she told the Times. “Because I did two jobs for Miramax before those incidents, and after that there was nothing.”

Harvey was one of the power players in Hollywood, and with the start of the #MeToo movement, he has been the target of quite a few allegations along with other similar powerful people in the industry. Harvey currently faces two counts of non-consensual encounters with females and is set to be judged by the law on a date set in May 2019.
