We may be living in a make-believe world, but Kristian Nairn is indulging our want for lovable Game Of Thrones character Hodor to still be kicking.

Despite our dreams and wishes, the trusty carrier of Bran Stark more than likely perished at the hands of white walkers in 2016 in a death that gripped us all.

Honestly, we’re still holding on…to the door.

While there is no suggestion Hodor will make a return in his current form when the HBO series returns next month, fans aren’t letting go of the fact we may see the lovable man again – even be it in white walker form, if you believe the theories.

And Kristian isn’t prepared to break our hearts just yet.

‘I stand on neutral ground with that,’ the 43-year-old told Metro.co.uk. ‘The finale is a couple weeks away now so you’ll know soon.’

That’s just not good enough for us, though, we need to know more, specifics, the real nitty gritty.

Not prepared to risk the wrath of author George RR Martin, David Benioff and DB Weiss, Kristian would humour us with his ideal ending for the franchise.

‘I would like it to end Dallas-style, like a really bad American sitcom,’ he began, as we wrote this all down for a spin-off.

‘Everyone is dead and it’s just a dream. A moment of life flashing before someone’s eyes. It all never really happened.’

Kristian has evidently thought about this, as he spoke, not missing a beat or hesitating.

‘They may get us back to do the alternate version when Hodor is king,’ he then laughed. ‘I think he’d be the worst king ever. I don’t think he’d articulate his plans very well…’

The DJ is making his way to London (amid a massive world tour of his own) for the very epic Rave Of Thrones event, which will see him play on the decks of the interactive and immersive fan experience.

Electric Brixton will be turned into a London-based Westeros on 26 April, in line with the launch of season eight on the 14 April, with live actors and white walkers, sword battles and, of course, Kristian on the decks. We can only hope there is a remix of the themesong. Just saying.

The DJ was a professional spinner for years before landing on the HBO classic and meshing his two worlds together. In this, the Lisburn-native said he initially wanted to shy away from combining his jobs.

‘I spent so much time as a professional DJ I didn’t want to discredit that or become a Paris Hilton-style DJ,’ he laughed. ‘Some of the people were asking me to do it and I thought, why fight the tide? And it really has been awesome.’

Even though many may only know the artist as an actor, as a DJ Kristian travelled, he estimated, 1.6million miles last year in his quest to basically take over the world.

Has Cersei done that? Daenerys? Huh?

‘I work hard, I’ve always worked hard for what I got,’ he insisted. ‘It’s not like I just swanned in and got paid six or seven figures. While stuff has helped, I’ve really pushed myself and I’m proud of myself. I’ve learnt I’m a hard worker, I wouldn’t have said that before. But really since I’ve had the opportunity I’ve surprised myself at how hard I’m willing to push.’

Still, come the end of the show which will surely culminate in a whole heap of dragons’ fire, fights and at least 4.5 deaths (at least), the performer is keen to be known for something other than Hodor – and have people stop asking for spoilers.

‘Every day, on airplanes and every mode of transport, it happens a couple of times a day,’ he says of being accosted by curious fans. ‘They always want to tell me exactly how they felt in Hodor’s last scene – it’s like when Princess Diana died, everybody knows where they were. But, you know he’s not real, don’t you?’

The love for the character goes deep, but there’s got to be one thing he’s sick of being asked, right?

Hold the door?

He paused before laughing: ‘I’m a gentleman, I don’t need to be asked.’

Oh, he’s said that before.

Rave Of Thrones hits Electric Brixton, Friday 26 April at 9pm.
