HBO gives a closer look at Arya Stark’s “showstopper” Dragonglass weapon

We have all seen how Arya is terrifyingly unbeatable when she fights at a close range, but with Wights or White Walkers she would not want to get too close for obvious reasons. It’s “death!”, like Gendry says when Arya probes him to give more information as to how the dead look like.

While Gendry failed to reveal anything useful, with the sort of resourcefulness that Arya has always displayed, her commissioning Gendry with a customized dragonglass weapon, had us curious than ever. We only got a glimpse of it for about a second in the episode. HBO has now released a sketch and the picture of the weapon.

The unnamed weapon looks like a double-edged spear with one detachable end, something that can work as a projectile weapon as well as a dagger for close combat. It closely resembles the staff Arya had used to defend herself against the Waif.

We also see what looks like Arya wielding the weapon during the Battle of Winterfell in the promo of the next episode. It was a mere half-second scene that vanished in the dark halls of Winterfell so take a closer look at it here. It does look intensely intriguing.

While several theories are floating around, it remains to be seen as to whether she goes for some major hits, that is either the White Walkers, or if I stretch it a tad bit in my head for the sake of thrills – Viserion or the Night King himself. We cannot wait!
