Sky Atlantic has yet to edit out the now iconic Starbucks from Game Of Thrones season eight episode four, despite claims HBO have made the call to remove it.
The shot was removed from the episode on streaming service HBO Go although on Sky Go in the UK, it was still available as of 3pm Tuesday.
It seems even the show runners of arguably one of the biggest shows ever drop the ball every once in a while as a coffee brand cup – thought to be Starbucks – appeared in episode four in front of Daenarys.
After slaying the Night King, the warriors gathered around and have a whale of a time before they set off for King’s Landing.
However, Dany is looking pretty sour – is it because they were all drinking ale and she was left with the coffee?
Like, is this deliberate? Did showrunners DB Weiss and David Benioff think it would be a light-hearted moment in an otherwise soul-destroying series?
Or is a double-shot Matcha latte the secret to capturing the Iron Throne?
Eagle-eyed fans went into a frenzy sharing the clip online, with #Starbucks trending immediately after. It then got even worse when it was pointed out that Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss actually appeared in the scene dressed as wildlings.
But responding to the gaffe, which has blown up on social media, Game Of Thrones art director Hauke Richte told Variety it’s not uncommon for items to end up misplaced on set, go unnoticed and appear in the final cuts of movies and TV shows.
Richte continued: ‘Things can get forgotten on set. [The coffee cup error has been] so blown out of proportion [because] it has not happened with Thrones so far.’
