**Major spoilers for Game of Thrones season 8 below**
Game of Thrones’ now infamous ending is widely agreed to be disappointing and one of the most frustrating aspects of it is the death of iconic villain Cersei Lannister.
Now actress Lena Headey who is synonymous with the role, has addressed how her character was killed off, and like many fans, she wasn’t impressed either.
‘I will say I wanted a better death,’ Headey said in an interview with The Guardian.
‘Obviously, you dream of your death. You could go in any way on that show. So I was kind of gutted.
‘But I just think they couldn’t have pleased everyone.
‘No matter what they did, I think there was going to be some big comedown from the climb.’
Cersei Lannister was killed in the penultimate episode by falling debris essentially, in a death not considered worthy of the character.
The sinister queen met her end along with her on-screen brother and lover Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
She added: ‘I invested as a viewer and I have my favourite characters. And I’ve got a few of my own gripes.
‘But I haven’t sat down drunkly with David [Benioff] and Dan [Weiss] yet.’
We hope she gives them a piece of her mind when she does.
Game of Thrones season 8 is on Now TV.
