Oh to be a celebrity on Emmys night, as stars including Drake, Zendaya and basically all the Game Of Thrones cast gathered to pour one out in honour of TV’s achievements on Sunday night.
As actors and creators changed into something a little more comfortable and handed their Emmy awards to their minders to polish for the mantel, the champagne corks were popped and everyone blew off some steam.
Drake of all people was there to flex his TV prowess; the rapper showing he’s got the clout to be in the room as the Top Boy producer clutched a beverage and made his way around the room.
Always on the networking prowl, that guy.
He might have bumped into Zendaya, who had changed out of her showstopping green red carpet gown to don a pink and black dress for the party times.
She posed with legend Viola Davis after taking to the stage alongside Ru Paul during the formal festivities of the ceremony.
Despite being the star of one of TV’s biggest hits this year, Zendaya wasn’t eligible for any Emmys this year, as HBO’s Euphoria premiered two weeks short of Emmys eligibility.
That’s not going to stop her from getting her glad rags on, though.
Game Of Thrones may have taken home only two wins from its 32 nominations, but the cast were out in force as they attended the party en masse.
Brienne actress Gwendoline Christie caught up with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, as she donned a pink powersuit wonder.
Tonight’s Emmys were hosted at the Microsoft Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles, California, and saw Game Of Thrones take home best drama.
The HBO fantasy series, which picked up 10 Creative Arts Emmys last week, also came victorious in the best supporting actor field with Peter Dinklage taking home the title.
The Tyrion Lannister actor was seen at the after party kicking up his heels alongside co-star Nikolaj, who played his brother Jaime, as the two happily posed for snaps.
One gang we also want to hang out with and cheers to is the gathering of Amy Poehler, Natasha Lyonne, and Fred Armisen who were front and centre for the soiree, as the heavy hitters of the TV industry were seemingly entertained by a bunch of gold dancers.
No, actually, performers on the night looked like splendid mirror balls as they wore extravagant, gold bodysuits and cut some shapes on raised platforms.
Fleabag’s Sian Clifford and Brett Gelman appeared deep in conversation among the mayhem, following the multiple wins of the team, fronted by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
The hit BBC series took home the accolade for best comedy series, with Phoebe winning lead actress in a comedy series and outstanding writing for a comedy series, and Harry Bradbeer being named outstanding director for a comedy series.
‘This is just getting ridiculous,’ Phoebe announced as she collected her third award of the evening.
‘Fleabag started as a one-woman show at Edinburgh Festival in 2014 and the journey has been absolutely mental to get here.’
Legend of the evening Billy Porter was also there with his gong, not letting anything stop him from celebrating after the star made history as the first openly gay black man to win an Emmy in the outstanding lead actor in a drama series category.
The star of Ryan Murphy’s hit show Pose literally danced for joy while making his way up to the stage to collect his award on Sunday night.
Channeling his Pose character, Pray Tell started his speech with a bang: ‘The category is: Love!’
Billy then quoted novelist James Baldwin: ‘It took many years of vomiting up all the filth I’d been taught about myself, and half-believed, before I was able to walk on the earth as though I had a right to be here.’
Party on Emmys.
