A bunch of Game of Thrones cast members appeared at the Screen Actors Guild Awards over the weekend, stepping out in their red carpet best and bringing a wistful tear to the eye of many a fan, since they may be the last since we see so many of them in the same place, at least until someone makes a documentary about the Game of Thrones phenomenon years from now.
Among the stars present was Sophie Turner, who sounds like she remembers playing Sansa Stark like it was yesterday. “The day that I really appreciated everything was the very last day on set, and it was the saddest day as well,” she told Variety. ”I walked onto the set of Winterfell in my costume for the last time. And I was looking around and I just welled up.”
I was like, ‘This is amazing how empowered I feel to be on this set.’ That was the day I really appreciated but it was also the day that I broke down and didn’t get out of bed for the next three days. Everyone cried. And everyone cried when other people wrapped as well. The whole season everyone was just blubbing.
This reminds me a little of what Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) said at Con of Thrones last year. “Sophie Turner was crying a lot last season. She would be like, ‘Oh, this is the last time I’m gonna see that washroom.’…Anything would make her burst into tears.”

Anyway, while Game of Thrones is obviously an experience Turner will never forget, she’s not overly interested in appearing on any of the Game of Thrones spinoff series HBO is making. “I would give anything to go back to what we had, but it wouldn’t be the same,” she said. “It would be different, different people running it. I don’t want to be a part of it. Unless they give me the big bucks I’m not doing it!”
Although HBO has said it had multiple ideas for Game of Thrones spinoffs in development, at the moment, its focusing on House of the Dragon, a show about the Targaryen dynasty set well over 100 years before Sansa was born, so it’s unlikely Turner would be asked back in any case.
Still, that’s now. In a few years when a writer gets a great idea exploring Sansa’s time as Queen in the North, who knows where things will stand? When that happens, just make sure you have the big bucks ready, HBO.
