Sophie Turner, who played Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, was married to Joe Jonas for 4 years before filing for divorce in 2023. The couple seemed to be perfect in every way. In a recent interview with Vogue, Turner opened up about the worst days of her life which were when her divorce proceedings were beginning. It all felt very overwhelming for her as she was filing for her upcoming series Joan at the time. Moreover, she learned that Jonas has filed for divorce through a media clipping.

Turner was in London for her production schedule while her daughters Willa, who is almost four, and Delphine, who turns two in July were in the United States of America with their father. The media completely turned the image around and portrayed Turner as a bad mother. She expressed in the recent interview,

“I mean, those were the worst few days of my life. I remember I was on set, I was contracted to be on set for another two weeks, so I couldn’t leave. My kids were in the States and I couldn’t get to them because I had to finish Joan. And all these articles started coming out. It hurt because I really do completely torture myself over every move I make as a mother – mum guilt is so real! I just kept having to say to myself, ‘None of this is true. You are a good mum and you’ve never been a partier.’”

Turner was shocked to see the turn of events, to say the least. She couldn’t figure out where these rumors were originating from. It took a lot of guts and willpower to stay strong in the face of such adversity. Turner pulled it off with utmost grace and humility. Now, she feels stronger than ever and is ready for the next chapter of her life.

The possible reason behind Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’s split is said to be how young Turner was when they got married. She wanted to explore her career in acting and enjoy a stress-free life rather than being tied down. On the other hand, singer Joe Jonas wanted another kid and a family life.

However, Jonas was on tour most of the time as it was in his job description as a singer. Turner did not want her identity to end as Joe Jonas’s wife. She wanted to make a name for herself and take on more diverse projects. Once the rumors of the split flew, Turner was portrayed as a party animal who didn’t know how to take care of her daughters.
