Tom Glynn-Carney, who plays King Aegon II Targaryen, has given fans their strongest hint yet about the scale of House of the Dragon Season 3.

In a new interview with On Demand Entertainment, the actor described the upcoming season in very enthusiastic terms:
“By the nature of the show, it’s going to be massive. It’s a lot bigger than the previous seasons… it’s bigger in terms of scale, magnitude, and the stakes are higher. Sh*t is hitting the fan in a really exciting way. I also think every episode has at least one of those moments.”

Glynn-Carney’s comments suggest season 3 will ramp up both the spectacle and the emotional intensity compared to seasons 1 and 2.
Bigger scale and higher stakes
The actor highlighted that the show’s nature demands a larger canvas this time around. With the Dance of the Dragons now fully underway, season 3 is expected to feature massive battles; most notably the long-awaited Battle of the Gullet, which will be previewed at the ATX TV Festival. The phrase “sh*t is hitting the fan in a really exciting way” points to major plot developments and turning points that will affect all the major characters, including Aegon himself.

Glynn-Carney also promised that the season will be packed with memorable moments, saying he believes every episode will contain at least one standout, high-impact scene. This tease comes at a perfect time, as HBO has begun rolling out early marketing for season 3 (expected to premiere in June 2026).
