The trailer breakdown: What we saw
There were many key moments and events in the trailer. It opens with Alicent Hightower walking through the Red Keep towards the Iron Throne, mirroring a powerful shot of Rhaenyra from season 1. This suggests her complicated return to power (or attempted redemption) after her secret meeting with Rhaenyra. Fans see Rhaenyra angrily banging on a closed door, hinting at her growing frustration and determination to press the war forward.
A major highlight is the clear look at Tessarion, the Blue Queen, Prince Daeron Targaryen’s dragon. This confirms Daeron’s introduction and the arrival of Hightower reinforcements. Multiple shots appear to be from the massive naval battle, Battle of the Gullet; burning ships, dragons diving into combat, and chaos on the water. This is expected to be one of the biggest set pieces of the season.

Matt Smith’s Daemon Targaryen is shown multiple times in full armor, face bloodied, wielding a sword, looking more battle-ready than ever. Aemond and the mighty Vhagar are featured prominently, with Aemond rising as a dominant figure.
The power of words
One of the most powerful dialogues of the trailer comes from now Hand of the Queen, Corlys Velaryon, when he says “All that remains is for you to decide what you want from this war.”
And another from Criston Cole, who says,
“Doom and ruin surround us.”
Some other important and flash sequences featured Aegon wanting to kill Aemond, Helaena, pregnant and delivering, and Rhaenyra wailing loudly over something, that will only unfold when the series releases. The trailer perfectly captures the tone Ryan Condal described: dark, action-packed, emotional, and filled with “lots and lots of dragons.” This teaser has already built massive hype, promising the war will reach devastating new heights.
