  • Harry Collett revealed on-screen parents Emma and Matt came to visit his set during his last day
  • Emma got emotional
  • He reflects on spending five years on the show as Jace

A surprise family farewell

Harry was filming a scene with Bethany Antonia (Baela) when several cast members made special efforts to be there for his wrap. He shared:

“But the last day, like, I was filming just with Bethany that day, and people came… Emma came from like a different studio, Matt came… and it was so nice. People were sort of just all clapping and stuff.”

He talked about his on-screen mother:

“Emma, you know, bless them, they got emotional, but I was like so full on adrenaline. I was like, I can’t get emotional right now. But then it was just such a beautiful moment.”

Five years of growing up on HOTD

Collett reflected on how much the show has meant to him personally:

“It’s mad because you spend like five years on this job. So I got cast when I was 17 and I’m now 22. I’ve sort of grown up a bit on this show, you know, around these people.”

He admitted the goodbye felt bittersweet:

“As much as it’s been a blessing, it’s so sad that I’m not going to be able to go back and see them and be like, ‘Oh, I’ll see you next year,’ and sort of do that same thing again. But I’m so grateful that it has happened. And I’ve met some friends for life.”

The fact that both Emma D’Arcy (Rhaenyra) and Matt Smith (Daemon), who play Jace’s mother and stepfather made the effort to attend from different studios speaks volumes about the real-life bond the cast has built. Fans have long referred to them as Jace’s on-screen parents, and this moment shows that affection extended behind the scenes as well.
