Daniel Ings, who plays Ser Lyonel “Laughing Storm” Baratheon in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, has expressed his enthusiasm about reprising the role. In a new interview with Radio Times, Ings admitted that while Lyonel’s story doesn’t continue in George R.R. Martin’s Dunk and Egg novellas currently being adapted, he would jump at the chance to wear the character’s signature earring again.

Ings on Lyonel’s future
While discussing his current projects, Ings reflected on his time in Westeros and how much he enjoyed playing Lyonel. He acknowledged that the character doesn’t appear in Martin’s existing Dunk and Egg tales, which showrunner Ira Parker is following closely.
Still, he expressed enthusiasm about returning someday: “Oh, man, I’d love to! Unfortunately, he’s not in any more of the stories that George R.R. Martin has written so far, and our showrunner, Ira Parker, is sticking closely to those. There is a famous duel in the future [according to Game of Thrones lore]. Maybe I’ll be 60 by that time! Whatever happens, I’d love to put in Lyonel’s little dangly earring again because he’s such a fun character.”
