Ask ten Game of Thrones fans to build a Mount Rushmore of the series, and you’ll probably get ten different answers. Tyrion Lannister would likely make plenty of lists. Jon Snow probably would too. But when Kit Harington was recently asked to create his own version, the actor took a surprisingly funny route, first admitting his knowledge of the real Mount Rushmore was a little shaky before naming four iconic Westeros figures.

Jon Snow’s actor had a hilarious reaction to the question

During an interview shared by ABC News and reposted by @westerosies, Harington was asked which Game of Thrones characters would belong on his personal Mount Rushmore.

Before answering, the actor poked fun at himself.

“There are four people on Mount Rushmore? Shows my America knowledge,” Harington said.

The self-deprecating joke immediately got a laugh before Harington dove into his choices.

Rather than selecting characters based on power, importance, or the Iron Throne itself, he seemed to go with the figures he found most memorable across the series.

Tyrion, Bronn, the Clegane brothers, and Drogon earned their spots

After sorting out the number of faces he needed, Harington delivered his selections.

“We’ll go for Bronn, Tyrion, Clegane, The Mountain and Drogon.”

It’s an interesting lineup. Tyrion Lannister and Bronn represent two of the show’s most beloved and entertaining characters, while Sandor Clegane and Gregor Clegane bring some of Westeros’ most memorable rivalries and battles.

Then there’s Drogon.

The dragon’s inclusion may be the most telling pick of all. While many fans would instinctively choose a major ruler or political player, Harington opted for Daenerys Targaryen’s largest dragon, one of the franchise’s most iconic creatures and arguably the symbol most associated with the Targaryen resurgence.

Notably absent were Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Arya Stark, and Cersei Lannister, proving that even one of the show’s biggest stars doesn’t necessarily build a Mount Rushmore the way fans expect.
