A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms star Peter Claffey (Dunk) rumored to join Marvel’s X-Men as Beast

October 25, 2026

Fans know Peter Claffey as the towering and noble Ser Duncan the Tall in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Now, a new report suggests the actor could be headed from Westeros to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to an exclusive report from Knight Edge Media, Claffey has reportedly been cast as Hank McCoy, better known as Beast, in Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men reboot. If true, it would mark a major career leap for one of HBO’s fastest-rising stars.

Peter Claffey is reportedly Marvel’s pick for Beast

Knight Edge Media reports that Claffey has landed the role of Hank McCoy/Beast in the upcoming X-Men reboot. The outlet notes that fans had already begun fancasting him for the role earlier this year after industry insider Jeff Sneider linked him to the character.

For Westeros fans, the casting makes a certain amount of sense. Claffey’s portrayal of Dunk has earned widespread praise for balancing physical presence, intelligence, humility, and warmth, traits often associated with Beast in Marvel comics.

The actor would follow in the footsteps of Kelsey Grammer, who famously played Beast in Fox’s X-Men films, and Nicholas Hoult, who portrayed a younger version of the character in the prequel series.
