HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has earned a major industry honour for its environmentally responsible production methods. The series has been officially shortlisted for the Sustainable Production Award – TV at the 2026 Global Production Awards, to be held during the Cannes Film Festival. The list of nominees was announced by Screen Global Production’s official website.

Shortlisted for prestigious sustainability award

This award marks a great achievement for the show, which is produced by HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery. The Global Production Awards celebrate outstanding and sustainable work in film and television production, locations, and studios worldwide. The nominees include movies and series which held their production in the most eco-friendly manner. AKOTSK’s nomination highlights the production’s commitment to reducing environmental impact during filming, which has taken place primarily in Northern Ireland.

Awards ceremony at Cannes

The winners will be announced at an exclusive ceremony on 18 May 2026 at the Mademoiselle Gray Barrière during the Cannes Film Festival in France. This is the first major industry award recognition for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms since filming began, and it comes as the show continues production on season 2.
