Apple TV+ is throwing its hat into the sci-fi ring again with a new series coming to its platform on October 22, Invasion.
The title says it all. This series takes cues from many of our favorite doomsday alien flicks and condenses them into one 10-episode series. Watch the trailer below:
As you can see, Invasion looks as good as any blockbuster movie. It’s amazing to see how terrific TV series are looking lately, especially those on streaming platforms. It’s awesome to see sci-fi shows in particular getting this kind of attention, because we didn’t get a lot of high-quality stuff in the past.
What you need to know about Invasion on Apple TV+
The show is written and executive produced by Simon Kinberg, who’s worked on the X-Men and Deadpool movies. As long as Invasion takes the best elements from the X-Men movies and leaves the rest behind, that’s cause for excitement. Kinberg was also a producer on Ridley Scott’s The Martian, another sci-fi hit.
Joining Kinberg as a writer and executive producer is David Weil. And in front of the camera is Jurassic Park star Sam Neill, who fronts a large cast. Here’s how Apple TV+ describes the new series:
Set across multiple continents, Invasion follows an alien invasion through different perspectives around the world. The series stars Shamier Anderson (Bruised, Awake), Golshifteh Farahani (Extraction, Paterson, Body of Lies), Sam Neill (Jurassic World: Dominion, Peaky Blinders), Firas Nassar (Fauda) and Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool 2, The Outsider).
As a treat to Apple TV+ subscribers, Apple revealed that the series will release the first three episodes on its premiere date, October 22. After that, new episodes will air weekly on Fridays.
