This year ends with a number of surprises from HBO and Game of Thrones – firstly, a 3-second-long footage from the eighth season, then the first exclusive image, and finally the official announcement of the airing month. And now it’s time to finally bring in the final instalment of Brewery Ommegang’s Royal Reserve Collection – the ‘King in the North’ beer.
The beer was announced back in August and is fourth and the final beverage from the Royal Reserve Collection. It’s a barrel-aged imperial stout named after Jon Snow A.K.A. Aegon Targaryen which will be available from November 23, at a cost of $12.99.

“There was only one character with whom we could end the Royal Reserve Collection…I don’t think we’re alone in our hopes for Jon Snow. And for those who missed one of the Collections during the year, we’re pleased to offer the opportunity to get all four at once, along with a glass in which to serve them.”
The King in the North as described in the official announcement by Ommegang is “Infused with the rich aromas of roasted malt, coffee, bourbon, and vanilla, King in the North tastes the best with aged cheeses, dark meats, and decadent desserts. It also makes a great dessert on its own.”
HBO’s Vice President of Licensing & RetailJeff Peters too had said, “We’ve now arrived at our fourth and final Royal Reserve beer which celebrates Jon Snow with a big, bold, barrel-aged stout for the long cold nights to come. We expect this one to bring our fans to their feet to toast the King in the North!”
