It’s been rumored for a while that Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) would play the mutant Wolfsbane in 20th Century Fox’s upcoming X-Men spinoff film, The New Mutants. Now, The Hollywood Repoter has confirmed it.

The New Mutants are a younger, rougher-around-the-edges version of the X-Men, and Wolfsbane is a Scottish mutant who is “struggling to reconcile her religious beliefs with her power to turn into a wolf.” Wolf, direwolf…this film seems ready-made for Williams.

Williams isn’t the only Stark sister in the X-Men universe. Her onscreen sister/offscreen bestie Sophie Turner will play the lead role of Jean Grey in 2018’s Dark Phoenix.

New Mutants is due in theaters on April 13, 2018.

Elsewhere, five-time NBA champion and recent retiree Kobe Bryant met up with A Song of Ice and Fire creator George R.R. Martin. Now that’s quite the power couple.

Interesting that Bryant would deem Martin his “muse.” Is there a Kobe Bryant-penned medieval drama on the horizon? And more importantly, did Bryant find out when The Winds of Winter will come out?

It’s not the first time Bryant has expressed his love of all things Game of Thrones, as the former basketball star was a special guest of composer Ramin Djawadi at the Los Angeles performance of the Game of Thrones live concert series back in March. Also, Martin isn’t Bryant’s only “muse.”

And in the coulda/woulda/shoulda category, Charlie Hunnam has admitted to The Sun that he once turned down a cameo role on Game of Thrones.

I would love to do a Game of Thrones cameo, they offered me a cameo on that show a little while ago but I was shooting something else so I wasn’t able to do it but maybe in the future, who knows.

Better get on that Hunnam, there’s only one season left. Still, season 7 will not lack for cameos.

You can currently see Hunnam as the title character in Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, which also stars Thrones alums Michael McElhatton (Roose Bolton) and Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger). Considering the reviews it’s getting, maybe he would have been better off on Thrones.
