Chris Evans (the DJ, not the superhero) has somehow managed to avoid watching Game of Thrones for a whopping eight years – not anymore.
The 52-year-old DJ revealed that he’d only just started watching the series to see Virgin Radio Breakfast show listeners, making him a rare species of human.
Because at this point, who hasn’t watched Game of Thrones?
Evans talked about the HBO series, which first aired in 2011 (meaning that he’d somehow managed to stay away from it for eight entire years) with sports reporter Vassos Alexander.
‘We’re the last people to say, “Oh my god, Game of Thrones is so good!”’ Alexander on the other hand, hasn’t watched the series at all.
‘I haven’t seen it yet, I haven’t seen a second of it,’ he revealed.
‘So you would be the last person to say it,’ Chris corrected himself.
Not only has the famed DJ managed to dodge spoilers, he hadn’t even known that Sean Bean was in the show.
‘I didn’t even know he was in Game of Thrones,’ he admitted laughingly, recalling that he’d been in season one ‘a lot.’ Uh yeah, on account of his being Ned Stark.
He was sort of a big deal.
Chris Evans joins the few people left who are scrambling to catch up with all seven seasons of Game of Thrones before the eighth and final season of the fantasy series explodes onto our screens in a matter of weeks.
The show, which is based on George R.R. Martin’s book series of the same name, will offer surprises to its readers and viewers.
The author, who is very much a part of the show, has warned that the season eight finale will play out differently to the books.
Game Of Thrones airs 14 April on Sky Atlantic and HBO.
