  1. Its a good explanation. I like it. Myself, I thought the extended seasons might be do to an elliptical (more egg shaped) orbit. Maybe something you can test quickly. Moderate wobble when egg shaped orbit.

  2. TL;DR equator should be south of Qarth instead of right in the middle of Quarth

Well yeah, the equator is pretty hot, but there are also a lot of rains. Which means, there need to be jungles such as Amazon Jungle or Jungle in Congo River Basin (both on equator). Deserts, on the other hand, are located around tropics (~23* – imagine * is degree). That would mean that not only would Qarth have jungles but other cities in Westeros like King's Landing would be all covered in desert (since it is areound 20*). If we would lift whole map a little bit up, Kings landing would be at areound 35* (Dubrovnik, the place where King's Landing is loceted in real life is loceted at ~40* which is pretty close).
Sea currents probably go the same direction as on Earth (from right to left on equator). That way equator would go right trough the middle of The Summer Sea. Now if we take a look at Atlantic Ocean, you would see that hot South Equatorial current goes to the left side of Atlantic Ocean warming America up, and then it returns back to Africa as cold Canary current, cooling Africa down and thus making even more desert like place there. Same goes for Indian Ocean where east coast of Africa is warmed up and the west coast of Australia is cooled down, making deserts there, and same goes for Pacific Ocean where west coast of South America has ddeserts. All those examples show us that sea current from The Summer Sea would flow into The Narrow Sea, warming the east coast of Westeros up and cooling the west coast of Essos down and thus making those deserts.
Dorne, even though it is now located where deserts should be (at about 23*), would not be covered in deserts since the current comming from The Summer Sea will also bring a big humid air mass with it and that will not allow deserts to form.
This liffting up proces will also move Winterfell so that it is located at around 60* which is more reasonable parallel for such cold city.

dont mind my English, its not my nativ language. and this is my opinion on whole "climates in westeros and essos" thing

  3. Propaganda! That is nowhere near 200 feet higher sea level. Global sea levels going higher isn't scientific. Stick to facts please. I also hope you know Water Vapor is categorized as a Greenhouse gas too so….
