Dexter’s ideal tug of war squad
When asked to build his strongest team, Dexter didn’t hesitate. He started strong:
“You have to have Lyonel.” He followed up by adding Steely Pate saying, “I reckon Steely Pate would be good. He’d be good.”

At a point, he made his most enthusiastic pick:
“Properly pull it. Then, Dunk, if he’s on my team, that’d be good.” Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk) is clearly a top choice for the young squire; both in character and in real life. The clip takes a sweetly funny turn when Dexter adds a condition:
“Unless Tanselle’s on the other team, then he’d faint.” This nod to Tanselle, the Dornish puppeteer Dunk develops feelings for in the stories had fans laughing at the idea of the hedge knight suddenly going weak in the knees. He wrapped up his team with a humble finish:
“But… And… me.” Of course, Egg himself rounds out the squad.
Why fans love this moment
This short interview clip perfectly captures why Dexter Sol Ansell’s performance as Egg has resonated so strongly. His genuine enthusiasm shows how deeply the young actor has immersed himself in George R.R. Martin’s novellas.
