With no Game of Thrones left to film (I know, we’re sad too), cast members are getting some much-needed rest before taking on other projects. Case in point: Emilia Clarke, the Mother of Dragons herself, is unplugging from Game of Thrones with a much-needed vacation:
“Who knew the end of something could bring about the start of something very good for my brain?” she asks. We may also have to add “Mother of Hashtags” to her list of titles.
When Clarke gets back from holiday, perhaps she can start her career as a professional singer. Dolce and Gabanna recently released a commercial for The Only One, its new perfume, and Clarke is the center of attention:
Also in cast members trying new things, Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell) is recording the audio for Harry Potter: A History of Magic for Audible. “Natalie Dormer invites you on an audio journey like no other,” reads the description. “Delve into the history of real-life magic and explore some of J.K. Rowling’s magical inventions, alongside their folkloric, cultural and historical forebears.”
This is not, FYI, an audio version of a book; it seems to be an audio adaptation of the Harry Potter: A History of Magic exhibit, and it sounds like a lot of fun, particularly if Dormer gets to say the word “basilisk” a lot. You can preorder the audio experience now for $29.95. It’ll be released on October 4.
And now for a random grab-bag of stuff Game of Thrones cast members have seen fit to post on social media. Maisie Williams (Arya) received a special note with her pizza:
If Williams were anyone else, what would actually be pretty scary, and it may still be…
Next, Kristian Nairn (Hodor) hoisted fellow DJ Steve Aoki onto his back in a walk down memory lane:
Eventually Nairn is going to get fed up with people asking for piggy-back rides.
Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy), who actually spends most of her time doing comedy, is funny in this skit about all the cliches generated by William Shakespeare:
And finally, we interrupt your regularly scheduled Game of Thrones celebrity news to bring you this very important #HaringtonHairWatch photo. Shooting is over, Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are good and married, but Harington still has his Jon Snow hair. We call conspiracy.
Not really, but as far as we’re concerned, the end of Game of Thrones won’t truly sink in for us until Harington hacks off that hair.
