The cast of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms brought the gritty, grounded world of George R.R. Martin’s Dunk & Egg tales to life with jousts, friendships, and medieval aesthetic, but off-camera, the real magic happened in karaoke bars.
In a recent interview with Film Inside, stars Finn Bennett (Aerion Targaryen) and Shaun Thomas (Raymun Fossoway) opened up about the memory they’ll carry forever from the production. They pointed at the weekend karaoke nights that turned co-stars into lifelong friends.
When asked, “What is the most amazing memory you would say you will take with you forever?”
The answer came instantly and in unison, “Karaoke.”
Shaun Thomas added on it that it was indeed a great night.

Shout-out to the cast’s glue: Peter Claffey
The two actors elaborated on how these outings became the heartbeat of the cast’s off-set bonding. Finn Bennett continued:
“I mean, yeah, on and off set I think like… um big shout out to Peter Claffey who… made people—he brought people together. We were always hanging out with each other. We went to a lot of bars and restaurants and karaoke bars on the weekend and we had a brilliant time and um yeah, I think that will—that will stay with us.”
The interviewer jumped in by asking the two about their favourite karaoke songs as well. To which Finn’s answer was Fiona Apple and Lily Allen, while Shaun’s was Kenny Rogers.
These candid reflections highlight a side of the production that fans rarely get to see. Beyond the pressures of intense shooting, the cast found joy in simple moments. The protagonist of the show also proved to be the protagonist here by taking the effort of bringing everyone together so no one feels left out.
