I'm fine with waiting a year because the worst parts of the show have always been the things not written by George so if he has more input for season 8 it would make the show all the better for it.

I don´t think the delay is because of GRRM´s books, he has to finish TWO books to catch up, so even if he manages to publish Winds of Winter this year, he can´t finish the last one before 2019, so why wait for Winds of Winter?

This is good news considering how badly written S7 was. Lets hope Martin actually finishes it and they adapt what he writes as well as they did in seasons prior to 7.

So the delay is because Martin hasn't been doing his job.

This is actually a REALLY good thing IMO. Hopefully it gives them enough time to get the last season right, and not give us another season 7.
