Martin has been working on the next edition of Song of Ice and Fire The Winds of Winter – for several months.

The author recently wrote on his blog over the summer that he’d been making some “steady progress” on The Winds of Winter during his time in quarantine.

“I am spending long hours every day on The Winds of Winter, and making steady progress,” he wrote at the time. “I finished a new chapter yesterday, another one three days ago, another one the previous week.”
