George RR Martin has praised a stunning collector’s edition of his Game Of Thrones book series.
The saga, called A Song Of Ice And Fire, has been transformed into a special set that fans can get their hands on if they’re mourning the TV show, which aired its final series earlier this year.
Released by the Folio Society, it features beautiful illustrations of characters such as Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), the Night’s Watch and the Night King.
Fans can also pore over a foldout map of the Known World – which Arya Stark will no doubt expand once she returns from her quest to find out what’s west of Westeros.
Martin, who approved the series at every stage, said: ‘The Folio Society’s splendid new editions of the Song of Ice and Fire series are masterpieces of the bookmaker’s art lavishly illustrated by Jonathan Burton.
‘Books collectors and fantasy fans alike are going to delight in these volumes… I know I will.’
If fans want to get their hands on it though, they have to make sure they really want it, as at £125 it costs a pretty penny.
Still, there will be plenty to get your teeth into while we begin the long wait for The Winds Of Winter.
And if you really want to swot up on your Game Of Thrones history, there are nine family trees to explore.
The drawings, by award-winning artist Jonathan Burton, are a new spin on the characters created by GRRM and seen on the Sky Atlantic show, with one notable picture being the moment Daenerys eats an entire stallion’s heart.
As well as the revamped books, we also have the Bloodmoon prequel to look forward to.
Naomi Watts is leading the cast, which still isn’t fully formed yet, and the star has given fans a sneak peek at what her character will look like.
In a behind the scenes photo, Watts sat in a makeup chair wearing a wig cap, while tuning in to the new season of Big Little Lies.
Her character has been described as a ‘charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret’.
Martin recently confirmed that Starks, White Walkers and direwolves will be featured in Bloodmoon as filming began in Belfast last month.
The Folio Society edition of George R.R. Martin’s A Game of Thrones, introduced by Joe Abercrombe and illustrated by Jonathan Burton, is available exclusively from www.FolioSociety.com.
Game Of Thrones is available to watch on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.
