Game of Thrones Season 8 has begun production, as you might already know. A while ago, we posted about the new casting calls for Season 8, and it had quite a few roles. Being the final season, the show will need to tie up a few loose ends, and that will require a few new roles to be cast. One such role now seems to have been cast now, and it is a somewhat important one. Read on!
The role in question is that of Harry Strickland, leader of the mercenary group we know as The Golden Company. German actor Marc Rissmann seems to have been cast for the past, according to his Spotlight CV, and Agency page, says a new report by Game of Thrones fan-site Watchers on the Wall. Rissmann has an impressive resume, too, having played some badass characters. There was a call for a mercenary character in the casting calls, and thanks to the sources linked above, we now have confirmation that the character is actually Harry Strickland.
Read the description of the role, below :
“Mercenary, aged 35-50. Described as “an authoritative, fit, cool and charismatic military type.” Horse riding skills are required, and the character will appear in two of the six episodes.”
We saw in Season 7 that Euron Greyjoy leaves to go team up with the Golden Company, for Cersei Lannister, so it looks like we will see Marc Rissmann share the screen with Pilou Asbæk (Euron), and maybe even Lena Headey (Cersei). It sounds like the character will carry some weight, so we can’t wait to see how it plays out. What about you? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
