**Spoilers ahead for Game Of Thrones season eight episode two.**
So Arya Stark has had sex and Maisie Williams had her first sex scene on Game Of Thrones.
It’s all happening.
While the sharp-witted warrior wanted to know what it was like to hit the sack with someone before going in to battle against the White Walkers, many fans were here for the ‘awesome’ scene between Arya and Gendry.
Sure, some felt the tension brewing away after they were reunited in the first episode of the final season last week, but it wasn’t until UK audiences were finally blessed with the episode on its screens tonight that social media burst into applause.
You could say some were conflicted and divided on whether Arya needed a sex scene, but all in all so many were here for our girl getting some in the most positive and boss of manners (despite the whole war thing, yes).
From her making the move on Gendry to demanding he lose his pants (because she’s not taking them off), social media loved Maisie’s take on the scene.

‘It doesn’t matter whether Arya and Gendry get a HEA and make many violent babies, or their tryst is the Westerosi version of a Tinder hookup…Arya knew what she wanted, sought it out, and got it. It was awesome,’ one very happy punter wrote on Twitter.
They added: ‘But Arya is, at all times, in total control, and totally consenting. It’s not the most romantic scene in GOT history, but daaaaammnn, it was bad**s.’
As soon as the scene aired, viewers were stunned during the second episode of the eighth and final season when Arya made the decision to have sex for the first time.
Some weren’t feeling it and, sure, that’s fine. We suppose.
‘Okay the Arya scene was still weird,’ one wrote on Twitter, as they were swarmed by a whole lotta love. ‘I always wanted her with Gendry but I never expected it to happen and now that it has happened, I wish it hadn’t.’
While some felt it was all a little awkward, seeing as we’ve followed Arya the past 10 years and watched her grow into a woman, she had her fair share of loyal defenders who wanted it known you’re the weird one should you find it uncomfortable.
‘If you have problems with Arya having sex ask yourself why you have problems with a person you care about experiencing excitement fun and pleasure because it makes YOU uncomfortable,’ one fired up fan wrote. ‘Also why you don’t think women should get to choose when they have sex I’ll wait.’
‘We’re probably going to die soon. I want to know what it’s like before that happens,’ she tells the blacksmith before the scene.
On why that scene was so pivotal and needed to be included, showrunner David Benioff said in an episode recap that it would make sense that Arya could make the most of what could potentially be the last day before she dies.
‘For us, what was interesting about this episode was that this is our last night together, and I think everyone would face the end in different ways,’ he explained.
‘Some characters want to make love for the first time because they’ve never done it before, and other characters who are getting drunk and singing songs.’
He added: ‘Everyone faces [death] in different ways, but they’re all facing it and that’s why this episode was so important to us because, it’s all these characters that we’ve been following for so long and now they’re facing a common enemy.’
Game Of Thrones continues Sunday in the US on HBO and Monday 9pm on Sky Atlantic.
