Game of Thrones will officially return for its eighth and final season in 2019, HBO announced today. The hit HBO drama will take 2018 off and return for a six-episode final season next year. However HBO has not confirmed an exact premiere date as of this time.

They're making us wait an entire year just for 6 EPSIODES!!! I would've assumed that they skipped this year so that they could film 10-20 episodes.
WTF, why do they need more than 1yr to do a final season with only a handful of episodes!? I already have a hard enough time remembering the plot threads from 1yr to the next.

2019 is gonna be Avengers 4, Star Wars 9, maybe The Last of Us 2 and now the final season of Game of Thrones. Throw Winds of Winter in there and we have popculture madness in that year.

whilst the show peaked at season 4. it's remained some of the greatest television in the last few decades. Season 7 may have been rushed, full of plot holes, and disappointing but when this show is over, I will miss it greatly.
Don't worry, they're working on a prequel series once the initial series ends 😉
