A first-look picture of Maisie Williams’ new thriller series has revealed that the show is to quickly take a morbid turn.

The behind-the-scenes image shows the actress filming a scene and sporting a downcast expression as she walks alongside Marvel‘s Ben Mendelsohn.

The Game of Thrones actress is currently working on the Apple TV+ series The New Look, which will follow fashion icons Christian Dior and Coco Chanel during the World War II era.

The series stars Mendelsohn and Oscar winner Juliette Binoche as its main characters, while Williams has signed on to play the iconic Catherine Dior – Christian’s youngest sister.

The on-set picture shows Williams and Mendelsohn donning black attires as they seemingly arrive at someone’s funeral.

Walking hand-by-hand, Mendelsohn’s character holds two bouquets in one hand as his sister walks beside him in a coat complete with a black beret and a veil concealing her face.

The New Look is written, executive produced and directed by Damages‘ Todd A Kessler and will follow the iconic rise of fashion designer Christian Dior as he dethrones the Grande Dame Coco Chanel and helps return spirit and life to the world with his iconic imprint of beauty and influence.

By depicting Dior’s journey through fashion, the series will also include the stories of other Dior associates and rivals – including Balmain, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Pierre Cardin, Yves Saint Laurent and more.

Williams is best known for her role on HBO’s Game of Thrones, where she played the character of Arya Stark for eight seasons.

She will next be seen in FX’s limited biopic series Pistol, which will tell the story of the rise and fall of the Sex Pistols.

Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are available on DVD and Blu-ray. Spin-off House of the Dragon is now filming and will premiere on August 21, 2022 in the UK.
