GAME of Thrones actress Carice van Houten didn’t hold back when asked about the Westeros series’ controversial ending.

The star, who played Red Priestess Melisandre, met a bitter end after walking into snow and surrendering to the elements after the battle of Winterfell.

Much to the horror of viewers, she removed the magical amulet that was sustaining her, resulting in a transformation into a haggard crone before her death.

While Melisandre may have found some redemption as she warded the White Walker away using her fire magic, one character who has remained divisive is Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright).

Melisandre was candid as she gave her take on Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) being betrayed by Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and stabbed through the heart, as well as the ensuing destruction of the Iron Throne.

Initially, she praised the move by Drogon to destroy the symbol of monarchy.

“I just love the fact that the whole throne was blown away,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.

“Also the randomness of talking about who’s going to be king.”

However, she went on to call the ending ‘silly,’ taking a swipe at Bran in the process.

“The silliness of it was very smart,” she went on, claiming the absurdity mirrored real life.

“This is what life is. Some dumbo can become president.”

Comparing Bran to a ‘dumbo’ president seems a little harsh, given the infinite knowledge gifted to him by the Children of the Forest.

Nonetheless, his appointment as king went down badly with many fans, who branded his appointment “dull” and “uninspired” in comparison to what his sisters might have offered.

Sansa (Sophie Turner) ended up ruling an independent Winterfell as Queen of the North, while Arya (Maisie Williams) set out West on a ship to explore uncharted territory.
