Game Of Thrones actress Nathalie Emmanuel has admitted the end of the series was like “going through a breakup”.
The actress, who’s currently starring in the TV reboot of Four Weddings and a Funeral, said she felt like she was saying goodbye to an old relationship and struggled to make new acting commitments.
“When that ended, it was almost like going through a breakup,” Nathalie told Entertainment Tonight.
“When other shows had kind of come along… that needed a six-year option, I was like, ‘I’m not ready!’ It’s like I’m still sleeping in my old boyfriend’s jumper at night.
“I’m not ready for a new jumper. I’m not ready to date again! It was that sort of feeling.”
The final season of the HBO fantasy proved to be incredibly divisive, with the last three episodes in particular drawing criticism from longtime fans, with more than 1.7 million fans signing a petition asking HBO to reshoot season 8.

Whereas most of the cast have backed the show and its ending, Natalia Tena, who played Osha the wildling, wasn’t a fan of how things panned out.
“The calibre of writing towards the end and the plots and everything that happens and how they wrapped it up compared to any other season, any other bit, it just feels like it’s been written by different people,” she said.
“It doesn’t make sense, for me.”
