It looks like mammoths could be making a big old feature in Game Of Thrones prequel Bloodmoon and we’re officially more excited than ever.
Thanks to a Twitter account that appears to be following the production team, an on-set picture leaked online shows that the woolly creature has cropped up on orange signposts.
Diehard fans will remember how infamous pink signs were used in the past to direct the cast and crew around filming sites, but this has been switched up to celebrate the new offering.
Could this mean that mammoths will be taking centre stage in the forthcoming installment? Well the time period definitely lends itself to them…
We already know that Bloodmoon is due to take place thousands of years before the main show, charting the descend from the Age Of Heroes.
An official synopsis for the spin-off reads: ‘Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game Of Thrones, the series chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age Of Heroes into its darkest hour.
‘And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.’
It was reported last week that filming for the HBO spin-off has already kicked off in Northern Ireland with various locations across County Down and the north coast being used.
Actress Naomi Watts has stated that the forthcoming spin-off ‘won’t let fans down’ and ‘hopes fans come along and get to find something new and interesting in this world as well.’
Alongside Naomi, the show boasts an impressive cast including John Simm, Miranda Richardson, Josh Whitehouse, Naomi Ackie, and Richard McCabe.
