Game of Thrones script leak reveals the size of The Night King’s army (Picture: HBO)

Game of Thrones fans may have to prepare their themselves for heartache as a script leak suggest nothing but doom and gloom for their favourite characters.

Season eight is almost here, and fans may be devastated – or bizarrely pleased – to find out that the Night King will have a considerable advantage over of his enemies (which is almost everyone).

That is, if the next season’s script is anything to go by.

Season seven of the hit HBO show not only left us utterly worried for every single human on the show but also left us itching to see how everything pans out.

The Night King looked very confident and ready to take on the land of the living with his Army of the Dead and it looks very possible that he has the Ice Dragon on his side.

According to the script, the Night King is leading an army of 100,000 White Walkers, which will predictably put the fear of all the gods in to the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros.

The excerpt in question reportedly reads: ‘The Night King and his dragon circle back, coming in for the kill.’

Yikes!

‘Hovering near the base of the Wall, the ice dragon shoots forth a steady stream of blue fire, thick as a tree trunk, strafing back and forth along the base of the Wall,’ it continues. ‘The Wall cannot withstand the fire. Thunderously, it begins to give way, sending pieces falling into the sea like a calving iceberg.

It reads: ‘We see a few Wildling stragglers who didn’t make it down in time fall hundreds of feet to their death.

‘The ice dragon keeps blasting until a huge breach has been opened, one large enough to admit the Army of the Dead, all 100,000 of them.

‘And the White Walkers. And the Night King, flying low over their heads, into the camera —- and away from it. All of them heading south, for the world of men.’

Of course, there is no official number of the sizes of each army but book readers will know that author George RR Martin has given rough estimates of how many men they have.

The men of The North, led by Jon Snow (Kit Harington) have around 45,000 soldiers – however, we must remember that the season finale saw the Night King’s Army of the Dead claim some of these men after fatalities.

The Iron Islands have been said to have about 20,000 at their disposal while the Riverland and the Vale of Arryn both have 45,000.

The Westerland have about 50,000, the Crownlands have 10,000 – 15,000, the Stormlands 30,000, the Reach has about 80-100,000 and finally, Dorne has been said to have a humble 10,000 men.

Although these are mere fan predications from studying the books, the total amount can easily outnumber the Night King – sadly he has death and the walking dead on his side.

Let us not forget that he can easily reincarnate a fallen soldier, unless their bodies have been burnt first.

However, a shard of the very rare dragon glass can easily take out a dead-but-walking soldier. You just have to find it first.

We will just have to wait and see.

Game of Thrones season 8 will return to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2019.

Seasons 1-7 are currently streaming on NOW TV.
