Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama television series created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, George R. R. Martin’s series of fantasy novels, the first of which is A Game of Thrones.

Set on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos, Game of Thrones has several plot lines and a large ensemble cast but centers on three primary story arcs. The first story arc centers on the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms and follows a web of alliances and conflicts among the dynastic noble families either vying to claim the throne or fighting for independence from the throne. The second story arc focuses on the last descendant of the realm’s deposed ruling dynasty, exiled and plotting a return to the throne. The third story arc centers on the longstanding brotherhood charged with defending the realm against the ancient threats of the fierce peoples and legendary creatures that lie far north, and an impending winter that threatens the realm.

  1. When you think about it if Dany burned the Red Keep, and only the keep, Cersei would be dead and the war would be won. It would have been an asshole move on Dany's part, but a lot less people would die that way.

  2. fun fact: Sansa & Arya seriously plotted against each other & Sansa wanted to kill Arya for real, but went to Bran before the trial in a deleted scene who then told her about Littlefingers scheming, which caused Sansa to change her mind literally minutes before Aryas execution.
fun fact: 5 episodes earlier, Bran told Littlefinger about his knowledge of his scheming, but Littlefinger somehow expected the lack of communication between the Starks, ignored Bran completely and continued his plan anyway, just to be reminded in last episode that Bran is still there and still knows about his plans. whatatwist.gif

  3. Oh man you made me laugh like I haven't laughed in a while with your end of episode 1 edit. I agree with everything you've written here, there were a lot of bad decisions in the writing room but overall it's still a decent, if not good, show.

  4. On an unrelated note, I've watched the entire GoT series like four times now and need television series recommendations. Other than Breaking Bad (which I thought was very mediocre), what's good?

  5. To me Season 7 was mediocre and it just seems to be the product of some fundamental production struggle or mistake. The characters don't even feel right. The worst part was that it was legitimately shocking how TERRIBLE the last two episodes of the season were (just bad) given how competent season 6 was. Even if Season 6 was very imperfect, it was definitely Game of Thrones. At time season 7 feels like something else. I'm glad you made this video, Ralph, a lot of us have a lot to say about this season.

  6. Thank you. I'm so tired of one side acting like every episode is FANTASTIC! And one side acting like it's all of a sudden the worst thing on TV. I would agree with you on the order too, accept probably season 5 last. Although Hardholme is one of my favorite episodes.

  7. I've been rewatching game of thrones, and man the difference from season 1-2 and 7 is huge. Robb Stark would never have gone on some suicide mission, he knows he has duties to handle. He'd probably send men or something. Ned Stark got stabbed in the leg and his leg was fucked for the rest of the show. When Robert Baratheon visits Winterfell Cersei said they'd been riding for months, now I feel like distance means nothing. Definately feels like they're on a time crunch to finish off the show when reality this show would need sooo many more series to properly finish it. Maybe too big of a task to accomplish. Still like the show though all in all.

  8. The wolf scene in episode 2 is representative of Arya's change as a character. When her direwolf walks away, it's showing us that Arya is no longer a Stark. She's been away for too long and is too alienated to know what's going on. When she arrives at Winterfell, she just bullies her sister. Sure, she's Arya Stark, but her journey has turned her away from the ways of people. She's a fucking psychopath now.

  9. About Brann, I heard in a interview or something (I forgot). That Arya actually was going to kill Sansa and Sansa asked Bran for help. Bran then told her everything and they where able to come up with the secret plan. Basically if it wasn't for brann Littlefinger would had won but they never show that scene.

  10. I feel like the thing people forget about book to movie/tv adaptations is that there is no way to fit all the things from the book into a movie (it's possible for a tv show but due to budget and time constraints it makes it difficult). GoT has the short end of the stick in this department because A. TWOIF is so vast, detailed, and intricately connected that we would probably have 3 hour long episodes and like 2 two seasons and even that might not even cover it and B. the book series is not even finished, how does one adapt a book series that isn't complete?

  11. You know what would make this show better… WWE. Image a the big fucking polar bear runs at John and BAM SUPERMAN PUNCH BY ROMAN BAH GAHD!!! LOOK OUT FROM BEHIND BROCK LESNAR DELIVERS A MASSIVE GERMAN SUPLEX TO THE BEAR HE'S BROKEN IN HALF!! RKO OUTTA NO WHERE TO THE MOUNTAIN, I'LL TELL YOU WHAT MAGGLE THAT'S WHY YOU SHOULD NEVER TURN YOUR BACK ON THE VIPER RANDY ORTON!

  12. I'll preface this with: I'm not a fan of Ice&Fire or GoT; dark fantasy has never appealed to me outside of a historical setting and a world that contains magic where its not prevalent seems ridiculous to me. If you can bring people back to life with magic that shit will never EVER fall out of vogue and be forgotten so you bet your ass the entirety of civilized society would be based around such 'miracles'(all Jesus had to do was walk some water and make a bit o fish to get street cred). The acting always seems pretty damn flawless and I enjoy a good twist but could just never get past the setting itself to really get 'into it'. That said I love coming to these kinds of videos just to hear why people love it; even if I'm not among the crowd I can appreciate the fervent passion the fans of both the book and show seem to have. Even I've noticed there's no degradation in special effects or even the actors enthusiasm for their roles so anyone saying this feels flat for any reason other than the writers/committee in charge is just riding some dick. Good job Ralph mad reps

  13. This guy's just mad cause he didn't get to see dani naked ffs this was a great season, it couldn't be as slow as the others with all of the politics because it's wrapping up and everything's coming to the war… fuck this guy
