Jon Snow recreated Ned Stark’s pose on The Iron Throne in Game of Thrones poster (Picture: HBO)

After Game of Thrones released 20 new posters of all the heroes and villains still standing – a mighty feat in itself – fans have decided to flip the series on its head and plonk Kanye West on the Iron Throne instead.

And we’re sure Yeezy would be delighted after photos of Kimye’s house recently showered an eerily empty mansion, deprived of any furniture at all.

While HBO’s latest teasers have every possible candidate taking what could well be their seat on the coveted chair, fans have created mock ups of who they’d like to see claim the Iron Throne, with Mad Men’s Don Draper and Breaking Bad’s Walter White among our personal favourites.

Amen for Photoshop.

Today marks the first time we can officially declare that Game of Thrones is coming next month.

However, we still know next to nothing about what’s in store, other than Deanerys Taragryen (played by Emilia Clarke) and Sansa Stark’s (Sophie Turner) first meeting gets off to a rocky start, while Arya (Maisie Williams) cannot get enough of her potential sister-in-law’s pet dragons.

And we just found out that at least one, actually the biggest, Game of Thrones star won’t be making an appearance as George RR Martin revealed that he actually turned down the chance to appear in his own fantasy epic.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the mysterious author wrote: ‘David and Dan invited me to a cameo in one of the final episodes, which I was tempted to do.

‘But I didn’t think just for the sake of a cameo I could take the time to return to Belfast.’

Or is he throwing us off the scent?

Game of Thrones returns to Sky Atlantic and HBO on April 14.
