Game of Thrones season eight will be the show’s final season and it promises to be the biggest and best yet.

HBO has put a lot of money into this season and there’s been talk of a huge battle scene which will put the Battle of the Bastards to shame.

This battle will undoubtedly see a lot of the show’s main character bit the dust, yet this scene won’t take place until the latter part of season eight.

Viewers will be keen to know who’ll die first, and it looks like that’ll be Euron Greyjoy (played by Pilou Asbæk).

The villain from the Iron Islands is supposedly on his was to Essos to ferry Cersei Lannister’s (Lena Heady) Golden Company back to her.

However, according to bookmaker Odds Monkey, Euron is the favourite to be killed off first at 1/33.

He’s closely followed by Lord Varys (Conleth Hill) (1/12) and Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) (1/8).

That said, Euron seems to be the firm favourite, but why might that be?

The character has already proven himself to be a great warrior and expert sailor, yet he’s also shown cowardice in the past, like a number of the Greyjoys.

When he saw the white walker with his own eyes, the first thing he asked was whether they could swim.

When Jon Snow (Kit Harington) told him that they couldn’t, Euron quickly said that he’d be taking his fleet back to the Iron Islands.

We only have Cersei’s word that he’s on a secret mission. She could have very easily made this up to save face in front of her brother, Jaime.

Enron and his fleet could be in for a little surprise on the seas.

It’s true that the White Walkers can’t swim, but they have something else in their arsenal that could bring an abrupt end to the villain and his army.

The Night King has an Ice Dragon and it can fly and completely eradicate the fleet before they get to Essos.

Euron could end up in a watery grave as a result of this battle.

This end would be very fitting for a character like Euron who’s been flirting with death for quite a while.

His death would also be a huge blow to Cersei, who’s counting on him to bring back her Golden Company.

Meanwhile, Odds Monkey has put Samwell Tarly (John Bradley) as the least likely to die first in the upcoming season.

Game of Thrones season 8 will return to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2019. Seasons 1-7 are currently streaming on NOW TV.
