Sex Education already has an epic cast, with the likes of Dan Levy joining for a cameo in the final season – but he wasn’t the only star.

Season 4 also featured a famous Game of Thrones actor, but it doesn’t seem like many people spotted him.

But we can confirm that yes, Jack Gleeson appears in the Netflix show’s final outing, looking worlds away from his character of Joffrey Baratheon.

Jack plays Dodgy Mo, a friend of Sean, aka the equally dodgy brother of Maeve Wiley (Emma Mackey).

Of course, the Irish actor, 31, is best known as the evil King Joffrey I, but it’s amazing what a moustache and a new hair colour can do for a man’s appearance.

In Sex Education, he’s got quite the unruly locks and some very interesting facial hair.

Taking to Twitter, those eagle-eyed viewers who did manage to spot him had to do a double take.

‘Oh my dayssssss. Dodgy Mo is Jeffery Baratheon?!!!! That’s insaneeeeee’, one person tweeted.

‘Wait am I tripping or is Dodgy Mo Joffrey from GOT?’, asked another.

‘I KEPT WONDERING WHERE I KNEW DODGY MO FROM ONLY TO REALISE THATS JACK GLEESON OMG’, one penned.

Joffrey’s death scene in Game of Thrones will always be famous, but since his three-year stint in the HBO series, Jack hasn’t taken on much acting work.

He previously admitted that he fell out of love with acting after his star role in Game of Thrones, telling students at University College Dublin: ‘It really comes down to just not deriving as much enjoyment as I did from acting as I used to.

‘I started acting when I was eight and really really loved it, you know.

‘All I wanted to be was an actor when I grew up.

‘For some reason, I don’t know, it became a bit kind of mechanical and less kind of passionate when I started Game of Thrones.’

As for Sex Education, while there are plenty of newcomers for the final season, resident favourites also return.

Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield), Eric Effiong (Ncuti Gatwa), Aimee Gibbs (Aimee Lou Wood), Adam Groff (Connor Swindells), Jean Milburn (Gillian Anderson), and more are all back to finish on a high, with the students now attending a new college called Cavendish and having to face plenty of trials and tribulations.

Meanwhile, Jean has a new baby to raise, Maeve’s studying in the States, Adam’s parents are navigating a split, and there’s a new sex therapist in town.

After four seasons, the last eight episodes mark the end of an extraordinary era – although, there is a chance that this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Sex Ed.

‘It’s the end as we know it,’ creator Laurie Nunnshe told Netflix Tudum, admitting that while it wasn’t set in stone as she and the writing steam started penning the season, things started to take shape.

She added: ‘During that process, it just started to feel very clear that the stories were coming to an end, the characters were being left in a place that I felt really good about it.

‘I felt happy for them, and I felt like I’ve said everything that I want to say with these characters at this time.’

However, once Laurie has taken ‘a break’ to focus on other projects, she won’t rule out spin-offs taking place in the Sex Education universe, giving fans hope.

‘I’m definitely taking a break and thinking about other things,’ she said.

‘But Moordale is a really rich world, and writing about teenagers is always a lot of fun. So, I think that there’s always potential for more to be explored in that world.’

Sex Education season 4 is now streaming on Netflix.
