Game of Thrones actor Pilou Asbæk, best remembered for his chaotic portrayal of Euron Greyjoy, is stepping into a new chapter with Blood on Snow, an indie crime thriller helmed by Cary Joji Fukunaga. Currently enjoying a wave of love for his work on Apple TV+’s Foundation, Asbæk joins an all-star ensemble featuring Benedict Cumberbatch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Eva Green, Emma Laird, and Ben Mendelsohn.
Adapted from Jo Nesbo’s 2015 novel, the film follows a hitman, played by Taylor-Johnson, who catches feelings for the very woman he’s meant to kill. While Cumberbatch replaced Tom Hardy due to scheduling changes, Asbæk’s role remains under wraps. Filming began earlier this year in Latvia. Speaking about the experience, Asbæk described it as “incredible,” praising the cast, crew, and the emotional heartbeat of the project.
