Hafthor Julius Bjornsson’s impressive size nabbed him the role of Ser Gregor ‘The Mountain’ Clegane, as well as seeing him named World’s Strongest Man.

But all that skull-crushing (on TV) and keg-throwing (in real life) works up an appetite.

The Icelandic actor has revealed he needs to eat every two hours to maintain his physique, which sounds dreamy to us but in reality, is probably a bit of a pain.

Attending the season eight premiere of Game Of Thrones in New York, the 30-year-old told Page Six: ‘I had a great time on ‘Game of Thrones. I have a lot of offers for other acting work, but I am currently focused on a strongman competition in England. I am flying there — but I can’t fit my hips or my legs in an economy seat, so I have to fly business.’

He continued: ‘I have been working out every day to prepare for the competition. I can lift 1,000 pounds, and I eat 10,000 calories a day. I have to eat every two hours to maintain myself.’

And his wife Kelsey Henson admits their supermarket bill tends to spiral.

The Canadian former waitress said: ‘If we go to the supermarket, we need a truck to get out of there. But that’s OK — he can pull a truck with his bare hands.’

Well, that’s convenient.

Kelsey, who tied the knot with Hafthor in October 2018, attended the GOT premiere alongside her man, and their height difference was rather eye-catching.

Hafthor clocks in at 6ft 9inches – 19 inches taller than Kelsey, who is a petite 5ft 2.

Still, who says size matters?

Bjornsson, who has played The Mountain since series four of GOT, became the first man to hold all three titles of Arnold Strongman Classic, Europe’s Strongest Man and World’s Strongest Man in one year, after finally taking home the coveted World’s Strongest Man crown after competing since 2011.

Just how strong?

Well, at the Arnold Strongman Classic, he managed to deadlift 474 kilograms, or the equivalent of a grand piano, which is quite frankly terrifying and a bit show-offy.

Now, if you’ll mind us and our 8kg dumbells…
