TVÂ Hit series has mostly been filmed there
Next year will see a brand-new theme park open in Northern Ireland, and it will be modelled on and themed around the HBO television series ‘Game of Thrones’.
Having run for eight seasons to high critical acclaim, the show, which was filmed mainly in Northern Ireland, is looking to take advantage of its mainstream popularity.
The park will be located at the Linen Mill recording studio near Belfast, and despite the global pandemic there is still hope that the attraction will be fully operational and open to the public throughout the entirety of 2021.
Within the theme park you will be able to find ‘immersive experiences’, original pieces of filming, costumes and weapons according to a statement released by Tourism Ireland.
“This immersive and sensory experience will explore, among others, the magnificence of King’s Landing, Winterfell, Dragonstone, the Wall and the lands of the savages,” the statement continued.
In addition to offering visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the filming sets that will recreate the most iconic scenes from the television show, interactive workshops will also be held where visitors can recreate the make-up and prosthetics which are seen in the show.
